How time flies! The first anniversary of my blog flew past without my even noticing. Since I didn’t get to celebrate that milestone, how about this one—last week’s post was my 100th! Is it really possible that I’ve written a hundred blog posts in the last year (plus a couple of months)?
Well, I guess I have, and I’m thrilled to have had readers from across the globe—forty-three countries, to be exact. WOW!

Carole, congratulations on 100 posts – I cannot believe you’ve had that many worthy articles to write about, but you have. Yes, I loved the no-toys post, but I also really appreciated the ones that you wrote about living in a tent and beginning your house. You made that experience almost come alive for me – how impressed I am with you and Ron’s courage. Love you, friend. Jan

CONGRATS on ONE HUNDRED BLOG POSTS (101 counting today’s). I’m feeling very “accomplished” for being labeled most frequent commenter *pats self on back–several times*. Of course you know my responding to other people’s blog and Facebook posts means I’m not writing much myself! This year is somewhat of a milestone year for me since my first book was published 35 years ago (Teaching the Reading Teachers, co-authored with Cynthia C. Woodington, published in 1983 by Charles C. Thomas Publisher). I have a “skinny book” that I plan to self publish through CreateSpace in June but, after that, NOTHING planned. So, from now on, I’ll be spending time reading exceptionally well written, informative, and entertaining blog posts–like yours!!

Congratulations to you, Leslie, on 35 years’ worth of publications. While I’m delighted to have you read my blog, you could publish a book filled with all those ancestor vignettes you post on FB, you know. What a wonderful gift that would be to grandchildren and beyond.

Actually, that’s the book I’m self publishing in June! The title is ANCESTORS ON FACEBOOK, and the final Facebook post that will be included won’t be up until June 5th (so I can’t publish the book until June 6th!). The book has more info about each person than the Facebook posts have.
It’s been a lot of fun to work on, and I’m really liking the cover Tim created. The front has a photo of a great-grandfather as a young man, and on the back is a photo of his future wife!
